On-Campus Programs
Presentations on Global Issues
The Jordan
Institute organizes and produces lectures and panel discussions
each year for the Texas A&M University
community. Each one focuses on an issue of international
significance. Past program topics have included international
business, foreign policy, song and dance, religion, and international
travel. Examples of past programs include:
- "Perceptions on the Papacy",
- "Ethnic Conflict and You",
- "The Kosovo Crisis,"
- "Human Rights: What is Our Role?",
- "China: Past, Present, and Future", and
- "The Berlin Wall: Changes in Germany Since its Fall".
World Faiths and Religions
The Jordan Institute produces objective, balanced, and informed
programming on world religions for the Texas A&M student
body and community with a student-centered approach.  This
programming includes "food for thought" sessions in campus dorms
complete with fun, discussion, and dinner.
Culture, Art, and Dancing Lessons
For student enjoyment there are
demonstrations of cultural dances, art, and customs including lessons
in salsa and merengue dancing. For example, Dr. James Yao,
a professor here at Texas A&M, offered an origami presentation and
lesson in the MSC flag room.
