Internship and Living Abroad Program in China
The Internship and Living Abroad Program in China lasts six-weeks
and is concurrent with the second summer school session at Texas
A&M University. Based in the cities of Xi’an and Guangzhou,
participants live with host families and intern in fields related to
their majors or career interests.
Located in Central Eastern China, Xi’an is a major industrial
center. The city was the capitol of twelve imperial
Chinese dynasties and is known as the ‘cradle of Chinese
civilization.’ This city also contains the world famous Qin
Terra Cotta warriors. Xian resides in the southern part
of the GuanZhong Plain in Shaanxi province, with the Qinling Mountains
to the north and the Weihe River to the south. It is in a warm
temperate zone and has a continental monsoon climate.
Guangzhou, the capitol of the Guangdong province and formally known as Canton,
has been a major center for international trade for over 300 years.
The province of Guangdong includes Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta.
