L.T. Jordan Fellows Program
Empowering Global Awareness through Research and Service
Welcome to the MSC L.T. Jordan Fellows Program, a prestigious initiative by the MSC L.T. Jordan Institute for International Awareness at Texas A&M University. Our Fellows Program is designed to empower students with opportunities to explore the world, deepen their understanding of global issues, and contribute meaningfully through research, internships, or service projects.
About the Fellows Program
The MSC L.T. Jordan Fellows Program offers selected Texas A&M students a unique opportunity to engage in self-directed research or service projects across the globe. Fellows can explore a diverse array of international themes—from public health and education to environmental sustainability and cultural preservation. Our program is dedicated to fostering a deep understanding of global issues and equipping students with the skills and experiences needed to become leaders in an increasingly interconnected world.
Since its inception, the MSC L.T. Jordan Fellows Program has supported numerous projects that have made significant contributions both locally and internationally. Our Fellows have conducted research on topics such as water sustainability in Africa, educational development in Southeast Asia, and healthcare access in Latin America. They have also engaged in service projects that have directly benefited communities by providing essential resources, skills training, and cultural exchange.
Program Highlights
International Research: Fellows engage in in-depth research abroad, allowing them to gain firsthand experience with the challenges and opportunities faced by different communities.
Global Learning and Leadership: The program is not just about academic research; it’s about developing leaders who are globally aware and socially responsible. Fellows return from their experience ready to contribute to global solutions.
Funding and Support: Each Fellow receives financial support to help cover travel, lodging, and other related expenses. The MSC L.T. Jordan Institute also provides guidance and mentorship throughout the planning, execution, and follow-up stages of each project.
Presentation and Dissemination: Upon returning, Fellows share their experiences and findings with the Texas A&M community through presentations, reports, or exhibitions, contributing to a broader understanding of international issues on campus.
Eligibility and Application Process
Eligibility: The Fellows Program is open to all Texas A&M undergraduate and graduate students in good academic standing who have a strong interest in international issues and a clear vision for a research or service project abroad.
Application Process: Interested students must submit a detailed project proposal, including objectives, methodology, and a budget. Applications are reviewed by a panel of faculty and staff members. Successful applicants are chosen based on the project’s potential impact, feasibility, and alignment with the goals of the MSC L.T. Jordan Institute.
Timeline: Applications are due in the fall semester, with selections announced shortly thereafter. Projects are typically conducted during the summer, but it may depend on the student’s academic schedule and the nature of the project.
