We are kicking off our week of events with a service opportunity close to home by joining with Texas A&M Environmental Health and Safety to clean up streams and waterways around campus—even local efforts have global impacts! Sign up at: https://signup.com/go/GAVsFeW (Make sure to sign up before Oct. 4 to get a t-shirt!)
Join us to watch the documentary Chasing Coral, a film that explores the disappearance of coral reefs around the world. After the screening, there will be a Q&A with the chief scientific advisor for the film, Dr. James Porter, as well as with two Aggies who research coral reefs, Dr. Brendan Roark and graduate student Alyssa Schultz. (Open to all as space permits — no registration required. Event will also be live streamed via Zoom: https://tamu.zoom.us/j/99381185938)
Visit our table at the Campus Sustainability Day Fair to learn more about our organization and how we can help you study, intern, research, or do service abroad! We’re also excited to share information with you about our on campus programs and community outreach!
Come hear from international environmental grassroots activists Blake Dyason, Nanticha (Lynn) Ocharoenchai, and Nalleli Hidalgo from T.E.J.A.S., with moderator and Texas A&M professor Dr. Leslie Ruyle, about their incredible and inspiring experiences as advocates for environmental justice, whether as close to home as Houston, TX or as far as South Africa and Thailand. (Open to all as space permits — no registration required. Event will also be live streamed via Zoom: https://tamu.zoom.us/j/97542471021)
