Internship and Living Abroad Program in Singapore |
|
The Internship and Living Abroad Program in Singapore,
or ILAP Singapore, is a six week program concurrent with a summer
school session at Texas A&M. ILAP Singapore strives to
place students in internships that match their academic goals.
Students intern in a variety of companies where they learn much about their
prospective career paths and the Singaporean culture. Singapore is
a mixture of primarily the Chinese, Malay, and Indian cultures. It
is common for citizens to speak several languages, but English is the
language used in schools, business, and industry.

In Singapore, participants can take an early tour of the
interesting and busy Orchard Street, then explore Little India and
Chinatown on their own. Several may spend time at the Chinese Opera,
the night safari at the zoo, or at Clarke Quay - a popular strip of
restaurants and dance clubs.
The participants also stay with host families during
the program where they spend time getting to know their host
families learn about the Singaporean culture. Excursions may
also include one or more weekend excursions to neighboring countries.
