Details of ILAP Subsidy

Purpose

The purpose of the Internship and Living Abroad Program Subsidy is to provide financial support to qualifying students who are participating in the ILAP program.

Administration

Administration of the ILAP Subsidy shall be through the Memorial Student Center L.T. Jordan Institute for International Awareness.


Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Full-time undergraduate students enrolled at Texas A&M University
  2. Classified as at least a sophomore
  3. Grade point average of 2.0 or greater
  4. Total household income of less than $40,000
  5. First generation college student
  6. U.S. Citizen or U.S. Resident
  7. Have little or no travel experience

Application and Selection Process:

  1. Applications are due at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 3, 2007 to the MSC L.T. Jordan Institute office, room 223-I.

  2. Applicants will be notified after submitting the application to schedule an interview at the MSC L.T. Jordan Institute.  After being selected to receive the subsidy, the request will be processed to ensure applicants meet all the eligibility requirements of the subsidy.

Funding

The ILAP Subsidy is considered supplemental to the recipient's other sources (e.g.: family, savings, loans, grants).  Recipients will receive a maximum of $1000 for the subsidy.
